I personally don't like apple and people can buy whatever the hell they want, but they don't seem to be willing to admit the limitations of the hardware they have. My dad was trying to tell me his Mac laptop could get better gaming performance than my PC I built and I about died laughing.

@AnInfamousDerka yah they're running out of logical arguments.

Mac was more user friendly back in the day, can't say anything about them now as I haven't used one but that was the reason then. May also have something to do with being the "hip" brand.

Well I know some artists buy Mac since Adobe is Apples bitch
Nyanperona · 26-30, T
@emjaymj Yes and no. I've used adobe on both Mac and PC and Mac is better when it comes to Adobe (personal opinion) Also several art schools require students to have a Mac

@Nyanperona Yah they stick it to you like that!

go ahead … call me [c=#800000]dr. jekyll[/c] 'n [c=#800000]mr. hyde[/c] … guess i got that one coming.

at my work-place … i have both [c=#800000]pc[/c] and [c=#800000]mac[/c] … hardly ever boot up the pc (win-7) … mac just works.

at home … seems totally different environment … sometime asking myself would i consider replacing my laptop (win-10) with mac … and quickly abandon the idea.

[c=#800000]nyanperona[/c] suggested one of the reasons is [c=#800000]adobe[/c] works better on mac than pc … i emphatically agree. she continues … macs are favorites for the art 'n design communities … i can vouch for that also.

yes, there are certain caveats … win-os offers much greater diversity in software … and win-os seems less problematic when it comes to compatibility issues with outdated software. a new pc can be bought helluva cheaper than a new mac … however, powerful gaming rigs easily run into four-digits all day long … on par with a serious mac gaming rig. another reminder … microsoft constantly updates their os with patches … and sometime those updates wreak havoc on proven apps 'n established networks 'n system stability … mac does not update their os as often.

last, but not least … security issues. both mac and pc are vulnerable … but, since pcs are much more popular than macs … most hackers gravitate toward win-os. let's put this into perspective.
1.) a hacker releases his ransomware … distributing 1000 copies of his ransomware … and one sole mac (.1%) in a certain design district becomes violated and decides to pay the $300 for a decryption key.
2.) now let's try same scenario with pc … 1000 copies sent out … because pcs are utilized throughout corporate offices 'n warehouses 'n hospitals 'n restaurants 'n retail outlets 'n you-name-it! for this, let's issue a conservative number … i stipulate 5% become exploited … and one out of two decides to pay $300 for their key.
let's do some mathematics … how much has the hacker raked in?
         mac = [c=#800000]$300[/c] [1x300]
         pc  = [c=#800000]$7,500[/c] [50x(.5paid)x300]
and the above scenario is only with regard to one issuance of ransomware. many other types of exploits out here in cyber-heaven.

i will stick to the mac at my work-place … and my pc here at home … thanks.
