Yes.
But it doesnt directly mean someone IS a selfish person.
Self preservation, wisdom, and knowing if its worth ones time and energy is important .
Some people you can help .
Some, you cannot.
And some will just suck what good you give them and turn it into negativity.

Its a choice of wisdom.

Depends on the circumstances.

Nothing is black and white and many are just airing their frustrations. Which can be considered a good thing.

I am friends with a few such people on here. Yet I recognize there are no easy answers to a lot of things. So I might not reply. It doesn't mean that I am depriving them of help. Just recognizing that it's better to say nothing than to make a fuss over something that I have no comparison to help with.

Everyone is different. No two people see the same. No two people think the same. And few people actually have the exact same answers or view points.

It's actually why there are so many arguments on politics and religion.

So you will see tens if not more replies on any particular topic regarding those two very broad subjects.

Sharing ideas is good. It's how we humans learn. Yet some are more experience at certain things than others. While others might not have any experiences at all.

So is it selfish to ignore when you don't have any experience with the problem? Or is best to just recognize you have no experience and ignore?

🤷🏻‍♂️
No. Energy is a limited resource

No, but usually they are behaving like that for a reason and don’t mean to be a burden, rather than ignoring them which can feel really hurtful just let them know your boundaries or that you no longer wish to have contact.

@SW-User Yeah communication is important. So that they don't assume it's about them...

I think dear, as that's my case too, that if you are questioning it, you cannot ignore it.
You may ignore it for sometime but it's there.
No ?..
Unlearn · 41-45, M
@being I feel little guilty. I can ignore it... that's what makes it a little scary.

@Unlearn Give it sometime and lift the burden from your shoulders. Let it go and maybe you can look at it under a different light after a couple of months ?

AH! It's okay to ignore such people. My mother is a perfect example. I am going to give my opinion and say all toxic people have this trait. Parent / child toxic relationship is never easy. This package comes with it.

I think you can see boundaries for them and yourself without stooping to passive aggressively ignoring them.

Not at all. Never let anyone drag you down with them. Some people just want you to feel as miserable as they do.

No, I think it's called "self preservation"
