I once heard it put best. To compete to be popular here is like competing to be the coolest child with down syndrome.

I have much more respect for those that don't play the game.

(The trolls obviously are addled if they reply sarcastically. Called hitting a nerve)

That's it. There are deeper issues at play. It's a false sense of confidence getting hyped up/over the top flattery from people on some obscure web site. People that give everyone the same flattery.
