go to thier profile and click the + button to follow them
if they also click then your friends ☺

You go to their profile and tick the box, if you have had no contact at all with them, you haven't replied to questions or stories by them, then you really should send a message to them saying why you want to add them, in my opinion anyway

You go to the profile of the person you want to add and near their profile pic is an add button. Looks like an outline of a person with a plus sign.
