More like modern day "relationships"😂
It's almost impossible to make a genuine connection these days for long enough. Every genuine connection that I have in my life at present has been so because each one of them started at a time when smartphones didn't exist.

I have a few friends (using the term lightly) that I've made in recent years. But they don't compare to the friends I made when I was younger. One of my best friends I've known since the third grade, and although we don't talk very often anymore I still consider her a trusted person and therefore a friend.
I would definitely prefer a friend made in person rather than over the internet.. but that's easier said than done when everyone has their eyes glued to their phones.

@KatieKatze don't you think the internet and social sites has made the world smaller as in we no something going on in across the world but while we look we forget what's on our own doorstep

Part of the definition for me is going through the long pauses where life intrudes and being able to reconnect with a lengthy conversation as though no time has passed.
