Thank you for posting, I was very worried, now I'm sad to hear this. We DMd practically every day, but didn’t bother sharing RL contact...we just didn’t....he had definite struggles and used humor and music to get through them. I hope he's at peace.
fun4us2b · M
@Dainbramadge Same, he brought up Tower Records a lot and liked vinyl, being really into audio and used to ask me technical questions... I'd follow up asking him how his Woofers and Tweeters were doing...I'm really glad he lived a full life. I felt like he had some sort of mobility problem, but he wouldn't go into that with me...but I did ask him about his UN and he told me he intended to be BookemDano - but after the typo it just sort of stuck...
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@fun4us2b Even down to his user name he was so subtley humorous. LOL

I would share stories kind of like that with him about my life and he could think of the funniest ways to frame them.

He once told me he was fascinated with my life. His words .. " I mean your just bumbling through life and all this stuff is happening to you." LOL

Who else could ever claim you were bumbling through life and it not feel like an insult. LOL

He tried telling me about his sound system but I was ignorant to half of what he shared. Didn't stop him from trying to explain it though. LOL
fun4us2b · M
@Dainbramadge That's funny - he made similar life related comments to me - which was surprising to me how perceptive he could be from a relatively small amount of info...and same - he was good natured about it - so I didn't feel insulted - man, I can't believe it...

Oh no. He was such a wonderful soul
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@0uijaFinger He really was.
I smiled when I read the part about him beating chess masters in the game.

He had a very subtle wisdom that you could tell he had gained that from a full life.
He was a regular on my posts.
R.I.P.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales He definitely had a class of humor that was purely him.

I will miss that wit.
lissah · 36-40, F
Ahh thats sad. Thanks for letting us know. I wondered what happened to him. He and Poet were close.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@lissah I messaged Poet earlier because I knew they were.
My condolences 😔
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@DancingStarGoddess He was as good of a friend as any of my R/L friends are or were.
He had a way about him that made you feel comfortable in his presence on line or on the phone.
Strange to feel the loss like he lived next door and realize I never actually saw his face.
Some people can just command respect with the softest of tones.
@Dainbramadge I understand. We spoke for a while some months back. I just tend to be quite covert about my conversations with people here and no one ever really knows they happened but me and the other party. I could almost swear I saw their name fairly recently but I think it was as you said, some weeks ago. I'm off and on here a lot
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
That's a tragedy. He was a pretty good friend of mine. He will be remembered.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@SleepingWithGhosts That was the biggest reason I chose to share the link to his obituary rather than copy and edit out his personal details.

He was a pretty amazing soul and I am sure, at this point, he wouldn't mind having his real name and location shared with everyone.

I figured I am probably not the only one who would like to share a message with his family about how he touched us.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Thanks fo letting us know
RIP Booker
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@JimboSaturn Our mutual friend said they knew of a few people that should be notified and I figured I would just go ahead and make an official post about him.
I'm glad I did because I had no idea he had touched this many people.

I know what he meant to me and I am glad this many other people had the privalage of his company.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
RIP

Goodnight sweet prince
And flocks of angels sing thee to thy rest
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Pretzel Even though his phone is shut off I couldn't help but send him a last message anyway.

"God speed my friend.:
GoFish · 41-45, F
he will be missed
GoFish · 41-45, F
@Dainbramadge yes very much so ☺ he had a lovely family life from what i hear ☺
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@GoFish I used to tease him that "Not everybody had a Norman Rockwell childhood". LOL
He had significant struggles for sure but his attitude seemed to sooth most of it into life lessons learned.
GoFish · 41-45, F
@Dainbramadge yeah he had a jolly optimistic vibe ☺
Quimliqer · 70-79, MVIP
RIP to a great fellow.🙏🌹
Thank you for passing the news on.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Quimliqer He was an honorable gentlemen.

He and I were chatting in PM here one day a few years back and it turned out he wasn't very comfortable writing and he told me to call him and gave me his number.

I wrote back and told him I didn't do that with people I knew from here, with it being anonymous and all.
He just wrote back and told me not to be such a sissy and to call him. LOL
I am glad I did. Our conversations were normally 3 or 4 hours long.
I don't think I have ever talked on the phone that long to anyone.

He was full of wisdom and had an amazing way of captivating me no matter if he was sharing an amazing story from his life or commenting on some hairbrained thing I had done.

I guess it's normal to have regrets when someone like him passes but I truly wish I had called rather than make that last message.

The world is a little less bright now.
Quimliqer · 70-79, MVIP
@Dainbramadge The passing of people, like him, leaves a hole in our lives. You were blessed to have known him on such a personal level.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Quimliqer He kind of came into my life at a point where I could really benefit from his wisdom as well as humor.
Magenta · F
What?! Nooo. Oh my heart hurts. 💔
He will indeed be missed.😞
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Magenta I knew I wasn't the only person who he had touched deeply.

That is why I posted his obituary without concealing his real name and location.

There is a place at the bottom to leave a message for his family and I am going to leave one and I thought it would be nice if anyone wanted to share their experience with the family it would be nice.
Magenta · F
@Dainbramadge He had such a good presence and energy for many years.

And thank you for this.. 😔
eyeno · M
Though I never knew Him, my sincere condolences goes out to His family and friends.

Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@eyeno He was an amazing man.

The stories he shared here were great but to hear him muse and reminisce on the phone was always a sure bet to lose track of time.
He will be missed...
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@HootyTheNightOwl Yes he is and will be by more people than I realized.
He was a good man.
TexChik · F
One of my friends on here has been absent for a few months and I am very worried about him. So sorry for the loss of your friend.
TexChik · F
@Dainbramadge WindSylf and Rooster were a couple of my favorites
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@TexChik I remember Rooster. He was pretty cool. He tried to get me a job with a company that did video games.
TexChik · F
@Dainbramadge He was a Green Beret in Viet Nam. His weapon of choice was a Katana. He was also a pilot and ended up owning a P38. He was a mechanic in civilian life and after his discharge he sold his garage and bought a license to grow Marijuana for dispensaries in California. Of course he tested is products personally, but he made a small fortune doing that. I remember he took his ex wife back in because she was homeless and dying of cancer, then he got cancer and passed himself. He was a nice man (to me anyway) and I admired his service. My adoptive father was a Marine. The Admin booted him off here after a lawsuit he filed against them. So I lost contact and only heard of his demise later from members he stayed in contact with.
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
So sad.

A very interesting chap with wonderful sense of humour.

Condolences to his family and friends.
GoFish · 41-45, F
That's so sad, my condolences to his friends and family.

His sense of humor was top notch
RIP, friend. 🙏
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@MsSwan From his posts he made here and the things he and I talked about in the wee hours of the mornings made me feel he was a wonderfully wise man with a great sense of humor and outlook on life.
But I can't help but feel he was so much more than even that.
This is very sad news
I hope he is at peace
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Chern0bylplaygr0unds I think he was in a good place in his life and now he is just with better company.:-)
M00ed · F
This is so sad. He will be missed..He was a regular on posts and we chatted sometimes. I had also started to wonder if he was ok as he hadnt been on.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@M00ed Yeah I had just messaged him 3 days ago and had no clue he hadn't responded in a while.

A mutual friend of ours reached out worried and that got me to look into what may have happened.

It really is sad news.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
I added a song I think is more than appropriate to honor his memory.
Sutten · 41-45, F
That's so sad. May he Rest In Peace. 🕊
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Sutten I have been going back through our message history and laughing.

We went from talking about browsers to quantum stuff. LOL

He was very intelligent and insanely modest about it.

He will truly be missed.
Oh no this is so sad
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@robingoodfellow I knew it wasn't going to be good when I found his phone was disconnected.

I think we are all feeling the loss but are glad to have the closure.

To many people just disappear here for any number of reasons.

This time we know what happened.
ShenaniganFoodie · 41-45, M

Musicman · 61-69, M
He will definitely be missed. Our community suffered a great loss. 💔😥
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Musicman I agree. The world lost a gleam of light with this one.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Dainbramadge Yes it did. 😥
That's sad news. My condolences to all his friends on here. I don't know if it's a good idea to share all those details about his name, life and family on here though. As far as I know he didn't post about that himself, so maybe he wouldn't want that to get out here. You probably know him a lot better than I do though.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@NerdyPotato I wasn't sure if I should have shared it either.

I thought about editing it withholding his name but there is a place where people who knew him could write a message about him to the family.

He was a very open and personable guy to me and I imagine to others as well.

Thank you for pointing that out though.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
He only messaged me once about song lyrics(I couldn't guess the song). Seemed like a good guy. RIP.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@uncalled4 He was a great man. Fun loving and wise.

I think he would find the people, in others threads, that had more texture than most and then reach out in some fashion.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I'm so sorry to hear this
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Justmeraeagain It's a sad day for many.

It has given me an opportunity to respond to comments reflecting on all the wonderful things he shared with me in our little time as friends.

There were many fascinating layers to this man.

He may be missed but fondly remembered.
