as an adult, an aerobatic ride in a vintage open-cockpit Stearman biplane of the Red Baron aerobatic team (I had to wear a parachute and agree that I could follow a command to bail out in an emergency, but who the hell knows if I would've actually had the presence of mind to unintentionally go skydiving for the first time ... luckily I didn't have to find out, and I regretted that the ride was over so quickly ... the only maneuver the pilot refused to do was a tail slide, he said those are too hard on the plane, but perhaps that meant a vintage Stearman specifically, as more modern, purpose-built aerobatic planes do them routinely)
(plus a handful of flying lessons after that)
in my teens, rappelling off a tower once, and spelunking in a tight cave passageway where I had to crawl through cold running water once were also perhaps risky, especially since I had to tie my own "Swiss seat" for the rappelling, and getting stuck in the narrow passageway seemed like a real possibility
