Heyo! How have you been lately? Are you alright?o.o Because of the virus thing. ^^"

I like the outdoors except for the mosquitoes. My family has a little cabin in northern Minnesota and the mosquitoes are big enough to carry me away--if they don't drain me of blood first. When I get bitten big welts rise up on my baby soft skin. I become the spoiled and complaining little city girl in the woods.

I must admit i have gotten completely away from "TV shows" and more into just movies and YouTube.
Avengers Endgame was great btw.
But the ideas behind good entertainment are always the same. It must "entertain" and give reason for a person to watch. Something can entertain but only once. Some can draw in millions to watch every episode (looking at you Game of Thrones, Walking Dead)
The point is, what's entertainment to you? Are you interested in the subject?

I think that many of us are so detached from where our food actually comes from and not many of us could actually provide food for ourselves without buying it that it is somewhat fascinating to see someone actually has the skills to obtain food and survive sort of independently from everything else.

I understand. If delicates such as fresh smoked salmon The feel of a warm campfire as fresh air drive me to seek out nature, Mosquitos and spiders are enough to drive me home. As for roughing it, does a trailer/cabin count?

I'm retired and live in NEPA. I hunt deer to supplement my food supply. My great grandfather was a world class target shooter. He frequently competed at shooting matches at Creedmore, Long Island. Hope all is well. Enjoy thanksgiving!

This was very refreshing to read! It's almost like reading a blog in magazine or something. Very honest and endearing.🙂

@Keaten Thanks very much! We aim to refresh!

@veeceekay1991 You're welcome. I like seeing people's point of view on different things.

I noticed that I made our cat 28 years old. Sorry, that was a mistake that I didn't catch due to lack of coffee. Out cat was 20 years old which is still quite ancient. 🙂

@veeceekay1991 That is remarkable! They usually only live up to thirteen years. Clearly, you took very great care of your cat. I can tell it was very happy.☺️

Ah, that happens to me too! After work, I just warm up some microwave-food in the microwave, obviously. xD
Btw, It´s been a long time! How have you been? How was your thanksgiving?

This was interesting read. There is something about the outdoors and nature that calls it to us. It’s like something that is missing keeps finding a way in. The romanticism your describe is not bad or foolish: There IS something suffocating about modern society, the noise the fast paced rush go society, the petty pretend world of social media. Nature. Out there, It is all real and quiet.

In addition to hunting, I forage for food. There are plenty of wild fruit trees in Northern PA. Great read!

Perhaps it fulfills an element of your life which you crave on some subconscious level.
