I Love Coffee

Anyone here use a bean to cup espresso machine?.
What kind of grind do you usually use?

Mines coming in a couple days but I only have a crappy blade grinder so i'm thinking of getting a proper one.

Get yourself a proper grinder, you'll never look back. I have mine set about half way.

@Grazza Then it's settled, i'm doing it.

@Ryannnnnn You pretty much have to, youll never get enough pressure for a good shot with a blade grinder, they can do filter coffee ok, but not expresso

I used to have one of those Jura Automatic machines, that I thought was pretty good, then I got just a mid range home breville machine double boiler and separate grinder, the difference is amazing. It took a bit of practice, and if you change coffee beans you need to change grind size and quantity, but they make a really good cup of coffee. I put a few dollars in a jar everytime i make a cup and when it dies I will hopefully have enough saved to get a high end machine like a Rocket or similar and a really good grinder

@Bushmanoz That's awesome, I've heard that about changing the grind. Luckily I've got a roasters not far from me.
I've actually managed to get a hold of a smaller/single version of the breville you're talking about I think, I did look at that one and it looks amazing.

@Ryannnnnn I think I know the one you mean, thats a nice machine. A good investment is one of those 2.4 ounce coffee shot glasses so you can work out your grind to get your shot right in a 30 second extraction, they are only about $10 aussie

@Bushmanoz Yeah that's a good idea actually.

I forgot to say the grinder is a burr grinder, you really need one, this one has about 60 different grind levels, it can make the coffee like powder, the old blade grinder I had would never have made a grind fine enough to get a proper extraction, there is a great channel on you tube that compares machines and grinders, [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDypbVQQ3Dk]Seattle coffee club i think its called
