Ooooh, one of the yummiest things I've ever had....

My mum used to make all her own preserves and jams and stuff.

Amd one day we were cleaning out the pantry and we found this jar of apricot jam, hidden right at the back.

It was faded. But we could see the date... It was 15 years old!

We opened it out of curiosity because it still had great colour, and hadn't spoiled.

It still smelt Fine.
So mum amd I decided to give it a go.

When we spread it on toast... It actually bubbled anf popped!!!!

Somehow... It had fermented like wine... It had become alcoholic apricot jam!!!

Fuck it was delicious!

I remember this, because the jam had been as old as I was at the time 😊

We were given some pemmican when in school that was decades old. Still edible.

I don't know but when I lived in Rhodesia if a can wasn't blown then it was ok to eat no matter what the sell by or eat by date was .I can remember having cans in the pantry that were probably 2 or 3 years old or older .
