Do you think the harry potter movies should have kept the same tone as the first 2 movies? I think when harry potter 3 up to 7 came out they were trying too hard to be dark and edgy....i mean it is just a wizard school...and since it is it should...

Agreed, I like the 1st two movies the best, Chris Columbus is an excellent director of kids and teens. everything after the 3rd movie was too bleak, and deadpan depressing. The magic was gone, just a bunch moppy kids.

I think the tone of the third novel changed quite a lot, and the film reflected that - perhaps went a little over-the-top in trying to be dark though, that particular one, I agree.

@sometimeslonelytoo i hope the reboot and...yes there will always be reboots...they give a more fun light tone all the way through.

They might remake them. I doubt they will for at least twenty-odd years though. Who knows if I'll be around then?!
