Depends on what you mean by recover? My first couple? I was getting to do my usual stuff around Week 6 (I think). My last child? Few medical issues/concerns with me so it was about 6 months until I felt remotely normal..

@MartikaDuponte1 6 weeks is basically what I'm reading as the norm

@DrScissorhands good to hear! 😊
@Iusedtobehereallthetime I'll call you sometime this week to catch up
@DrScissorhands that sounds fabulous, would love

@WaryWitchWandering have heard of the witch hazel frozen pads! An intense measure. I hope I remember them.

The tearing, oh God the tearing I've read about. A labia tear is probably preferred over the perineum tear although it's all bad..but a labia probably heals faster. The perineum ones that go down to the a hole though, those look absolutely dreadful.

That must have been a nightmare with your son and not knowing what was wrong, sorry to hear that. Thank God you got it figured out hopefully it didn't take too long. I know someone who almost died right after birth because of a milk allergy, and is now just lactose intolerant but still drinks dairy

Thank you for all your comments, I've learned things from you already and I so greatly appreciate the responses 😊🫂

@Iusedtobehereallthetime you may not even tear! It truly depends on how baby is positioned and how you’re pushing/guided by people around you.

It truly was awful, I’ve been through shit before and battled depression on and off through my life, but that was the most heartbreaking for me. Thankfully my kids pediatrician is amazing, she caught it all quickly. I brought him in and said “something is terribly wrong”. She did a stool sample and figured it all out pretty quickly. After a few weeks on a specialized formula called Neocate and a RX for the acid reflux, he was a happy healthy boy and I felt like everything just lifted off of us. He’s such strong little guy 😊 (and he too can drink and eat dairy now haha)

No need to thank me! Becoming a mom is like joining a group haha… most other moms wanna help or share experiences. I can tell you’re going to be a great mom, you care and seem to want to educate yourself as much as possible. You’re going to do great ❤️
@WaryWitchWandering eek. Fingers crossed

I'm following this doula on IG, serenitylifedoula I believe it is. She's pretty amazing. Learning a lot from her. Will probably show up for a free class she does online. All about "training for birth"!

Thank God for science. Imagine back in the old days, when they couldn't so accurately diagnose these things and it was all guesswork. Terrifying thought.

Thank you!!! I love that encouragement... It's so scary not knowing what you're doing. I don't want to be a bad mom, I don't want to let my baby down. She's going to be well taken care of damnit and I'll do all the studying and training I have to :(
