I feared the belt all my childhood and teen years trying to avoid to deserve it. Not always with much success 🙁 I got it until I reached the age of 17/18 y, and always when I deserved it (more in my childhood, then 3-4 times in a year)

both... my parents were very strict but i always was a rebel and if it wasnt for my attitude towards rules i could have avoided many of those encounters with the belt

I don't think hands hurt as much as the belt. At least my parents started to use the belt on me when I was 4 cos hand spankings didn't hurt enough to make me behave.

Very often right up until teenager years.
They used a cable, rarely a belt.
I agree with Pinkrainbow, palms hurt a lot.

I think it taught me to be responsible for my actions and though it hurt at the time I am still here

Maybe at least 3 or 4 times a year. I got spanked bare bottom from age 7-17.

I don't recall either of my parents ever wearing a belt. It was more fists with them. Started when I was 18 months old and finished when I was 16 years old. By then, I had a fist of my own. I still do. And I never, ever use it.

Madgirl, that must have been really bad. My best friend got the belt at least once a week and I saw the belt marks on her. How often did they punish you?

i got the switch as a child to. My sister disobeyed mother and she got it long and hard she had blood on her cheeks and could not sit right for days

not often. Theres only one time i remember in detail. I was physically punished but not with a belt.

i was punished unfairly some i did deserve but most i did not. My sister was a bit naughty some times

during my worst times propably every month... but it got fewer the older i became

i look back at mine and i now know some i did deserve but most was unfair
