Does anyone here have a parent with paranoia? [I Parenting And Family]

How do you deal with it? How did you help them through it? Were you able to convince them to get help? How?

I had a similar problem and somehow with luck I stumbled upon the very resources that helped me out all by myself. And with experience that is how I helped my father through it in recent times. The most important thing is to be 'present'. And, I was never afraid for him. I had worked out the worst scenarios for my head and mostly lived during these times beyond my thoughts i.e. not thinking and being present. If I had not shown confidence in dealing with him, he would not have put faith in me.

He is better now. The problem isn't completely averted. When help is needed, he will get help because he now trusts my judgement. You stay present with them until time heals. Moreover, he did have to take certain medicines to be able to sleep and calm his nerves, etc etc. They are needed to avert immediate danger but they are not permanent solution of course.

@MasterofNone Thank you. Looks like your dad was able to acknowledge the problem with your help. That's so fortunate. You are an amazing son.

I had an uncle and cousin and my Dad seemed to. They got no help. They did drugs.
