Would you forgive a parent if they didn't show up to your wedding?

Our late mother when she was alive, said she will be there for the wedding and not a lot of our relatives are happy about it. Mom never showed up for my oldest brother's wedding but he kind of knew she would show up. It did bother him but he didn't care. Mom never kept her promises. One of my uncle's girlfriends bluntly told him that mom doesn't give a shit about him. This is about him and his wife not her so start walking on his down two goddamn feet. She also told him he needs to move on and do him and take care of himself and stop caring for the fucking woman that doesn't care. She won't change and she is a stuck up bitch. She also said screw her. He didn't seem hurt when she told him and he just doesn't care. It stung when she said that but she was right. My bro kept having fun and he had dad at least. He still is angry for that. This was in 2008.

I'm sorry for your loss. I cannot understand that type of behavior from a parent. Mine would have been there for me come hell or high water as would I for my own kid. I am also sorry there are parents who don't know how to treat their kids.

Depends on the circumstances. Mom didn't go to my half brother's second wedding because she couldn't afford to go to Nevada and I really didn't blame her. Neither could I. 🤷🏻‍♂️
