@BetweenLines = ALL relationships end in either divorce or death. You can be married for 50 years and still get divorced. One day you and your best friend will end your relaionship (divorce). That happens when you no longer fulfill each others needs and desires. The same thing can happen between family members.

Good for you

Being broken isn't necessarily such a bad thing. I have found that brokenness can actually be quite liberating.
ineedadrink · 56-60, M
Sounds very sensible. Not common sometimes, though.
Livingwell · 61-69, M
You are not broken at all. Just starting another chapter in life. 🙂
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
You have such a nice way of saying that and moving on.
You should send us some pictures of yourself, maybe there's a man for you on here somewhere ?

@Midlifemale Thank you. I try to see it from both angles. The people here on SW are so far from me haha. Perhaps someday, once my divorce is finalised, I will share more of myself 😊

@BetweenLines join me in a cup of coffee now. Its morning here and I know its nightime by you. So your's will be decaf 😊

@ShenaniganFoodie are you wanting her resume? Or that’s what she could ask men?
BetweenLines · 36-40, F
@Softy1 I definitely DO NOT want to know their bra size 😆

@BetweenLines lol yes I missed that! Lol

100%. Treasure the people who just move on like nothing happened and include you on plans going forward.
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
You can cope however you need to, and if one day you want to open up about it you can. Get through however works best for you and your friends will understand.
No you're not broken ..
Seems like you're just trying to get on with your life without dragging out the parts that really isn't of anyone's business

What happened between you and the ex is NOBODY'S business. As a divorced person myself, I haven't had to remind many people of that, but boy, I have.
BetweenLines · 36-40, F
@uncalled4 Yeah, probably a coping mechanism for some to share. But I just want to move on after years of being in a toxic marriage. I just let people to think whatever, they are not getting anything from me. But my sis in laws though, they are spreading rumours to protect their brother’s reputation. But I just do what I do… eventually they will realise that silence does not mean guilty.

@BetweenLines One of the most gratifying things was a friend calling me up and saying "I ran into her at the store...man, I get it now". My ex treated all my friends like trash in a weird misplaced anger moment. Guilt by association, I assume.
My ex was unaccounted for on several occasions before we split, and years later, I found receipts dated after the date she allegedly "left". Was she using my place like a Motel 6 while I worked? Probably. Makes little difference now.
