I am a professional babysitter / nanny. I watch kids for extended periods of time, mostly for parents who need to travel a lot for work. Currently I watch two girls from two different families. They are both young teens. I tend to be strict but fair.

@TheOrionbeltseeker Both require different approaches. I do not think it is hard to babysit either. Just learn the character of the child and adjust the methods to the needs of the child, regardless of age.

@Stilltryinghard I believe kids need structure and love. The combination of those is crucial, together with consequences for bad behavior, and rewards for good behavior.

I mean most people still struggle with the right mix... but you make it sound really natural lol

@Stilltryinghard That is right. Every kid needs a different approach. Indeed, the combination sounds natural, but very difficult to execute correctly.
