I do not love my son more than I love my daughter.
My mother did tend to expect more of her daughters than she did her sons
I'm not really sure why

it's because boys often have an Oedipus complex about seeing who can outdo each other. That makes them love their mothers more, and with girls it's called the Electra complex.
