Yes. Back when I was around 16. I hitch hiked probably 10,000 miles.
Of course, it was a different world back then.
laurieluvsit · 26-30, F

@laurieluvsit I only do it when last resort. I try everything before I do it. I did get in an taxi when I was 20 , In italy , an guy I met on the bus paid for me and wanted me to get to the airport safely. I had ran out of money and I didnt realise how buses ran over there , none of the drivers spoke english. He came with me to the airport.

taneegoan · 31-35, F
yea when I was in high school mammo's friends used to took me and dropped in my school but it was purely for their own choice to get advantages from me , as with time their demands and act started increased so wildly so I started avoid them and took different route to reach at my school but as made habituated by riding with others so feel very discomfort for walking or feel me bored lonely walking , so some times I did that and as most of were unknown strangers so not much getting much response from them and I feel that most of them were not really interested in a thin and dark skin girl with a simple average girl like me for a company in their bikes
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
@taneegoan you have never been average
taneegoan · 31-35, F
@ronisme1 thanx may be not for you but am still in eyes in my countrymen
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Yes. In the late 50s and early 60s I hitch hiked back and forth between my home and college (about 70 miles), or took the bus. Some times it was a bit piece-mealed, but usually no more than 3 changes along the way. Never a bad experience and lots of interesting, pleasant and nice people.
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
Yes it was a bad experience I wouldn't recommend it. 👍
SW-User
@FloorGenAdm what happend ?
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
@SW-User Friend and me in our teens hopped in a truck with a drunk driver at the gas station. He raced off and side-swiped like ten cars knocking their mirrors off and stuff so when he finally slowed down we jumped out and took off running.
chrisCA · M
Yes. When I was in high school, and college.
Dacrowman · 70-79, M
Yes but many years ago
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
Sort of. I used to get people to drive me back to the put in when I didn't have a take out driver back in my kayaking days. It was pretty normal for the area, though.
Fluffybull · F
Yes, with a friend when we were both about 16. From the south west of Scotland to the Highlands, staying at youth hostels ☺️

I used to hitch hike when I was in my teens and when I eas a student
Well, there is the risk of getting picked up by a serial killer. Oh wait--that happens with Uber, too.

Ok, no difference then. And it's cheaper.

No. It’s never been particularly safe for women to do that around here.
