I sure have experienced things that have had a profound impact on me, lasting memories, even some privileged moments of luxury. It's all I could have ever really wanted.
That and where you say you consider you have achieved success and have a flame that has yet to be distinguished.. well you kinda answer your own question, a career isn't anything compared to that..

Having a fancy job doesn't make you a better person, it doesn't even make you a happier person. You are not worth more fundamentally if you are a CEO compared to a person who fills the shelves in a grocery store.. all are needed, all are important..

Who we are matters more than what we are.

Were you happy? thats all that matters. Chasing an ideal is a trap a lot of people fall for, they spend their lives over-working like happiness is just around the corner and you'll get their faster the more money you have but it isn't true.

No. I definitely do not think anyone's life should be considered a failure, just because they never had an illustrious, "career".

When everyone feels the same way, that's when they go out to riot
It doesn’t sound like it. I think of failures as people that have goals and don’t or didn’t finish them or people that have potential but leave it untapped but are aware of the untapped potential.

You manned up to support your family, that is worthy of much respect.
I think a failure is someone who has a lot of regrets or quit trying to achieve what they set out to achieve not because their goals changed but because they quit. @curiosi

You don’t need a career to be successful. Success is defined by each individual. You decide your worth. Getting out of bed in the morning, and doing what needs to be done to survive another day is deemed successful for many.
