@revenant A cult that does not allow thinking. You must take what the priest in the lab coat tells you without question. After all everything they say is peer reviewed. (IOW they aren't allowed to think either)

I was accused of running one once, when I was inexplicably popular. One guy said I was going to gather a load of women together in a barn and make them drink some strangely coloured drinks. At that point, I didn't know if he was accusing me of being a cult leader or of organising a hoedown.

@revenant Then no, I have not been. I was in a Bible study group that met in homes that some people called a cult because it wasn't a church. 😨. Oh the horror lol.
