Well there's always a reason, but it sounds like you're wondering if you need to know or even tell others why you are happy or sad. Well.. Maybe. If you're happy, it'd make sense to figure out what made you feel this way. That way, you can actively seek the same type of situations that will also make you happy. Similarly with sadness, knowing what makes you feel that way gives you the wisdom to avoid situations that would make you sad
