I like the way you've described the sudden surprise and shock of realizing you're about to be punished, the unexpected nature of it.
It reminds me of a similar school experience i had as a 14 year old.
Called to the front of the class, with my friend, and accused of copying homework - I had made the mistake of allowing my friend to see my homework, little realizing he would copy it. The problem was, i had done it wrong.
The mortifying embarrassment of being told to "bend over and touch your toes" still makes me blush all these years later.
He was first, so i had the "pleasure" of seeing him get 3 hard whacks of "the slipper" (a rubber soled plimsoll), before it was my turn.
I had never received CP before. The shock of the first smack, which nearly knocked me over, was, to say the least, unexpected. Then there was the "bracing myself" for the next 2, and concentrating on not crying - even though there were unavoidable tears in my eyes. The class was, of course, completely silent. You could have heard a pin drop. It was most unusual for anyone to get more than one whack.
It was all over in 2 or 3 minutes. Then we went back to our desks and gingerly sat down. I remember well the heat spreading through my nether regions, and how that made me feel.
My friend and I never discussed it, not a word. It was just something that happened back then, a part of school life.
