I'm sure we all remember that feeling, deep inside, the first time we realised what was going on behind the Head's office door!

Very good build-up of tension, and the counterpoint of Nancy's gleeful silence with Arabella's utter innocence. I well remember the electricity engendered when I knew a fellow pupil was to be beaten, the secret thrill on his nervous exit and then broken return to class, hardly able to walk properly.
Good cliff-hanger ending.

The last time I was in the Headmistress's office it was to answer questions about the disappearance of a small garden gnome. I said nothing 😑
