@bijouxbroussard Funny my father had a similar attitude. And he actually worked for Roy Rogers once. He just despised western movies and what they portrayed though.

I was still at the is-this-PC phase and asked awkwardly, “So, how it is for you now?”
He grinned at me. “You mean how is it being conquered by whites?”
That was both exactly what I meant and not exactly what I meant. I just stayed quiet.
He laughed happily. “The whites brought us sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll! What’s not to love?”
I would see him frequently on the bus, usually in intense conversations with women, usually tourists, and I came to the conclusion that his bus rides were for the specific purpose of enjoying the gifts the whites brought.

I remember them very well - i remember the radio talk host Wolfman Jack, Larry the Legend and some other radio personality talking about the ban of their records at Kmart, Target, Woolworth and other stores. It was big deal
My maternal grandfather, who grew up on a reservation in Louisiana, used to say, when he caught my cousins watching Westerns on tv, "In this house, the Indians are the good guys !”
We used to laugh, and he did, too. But he was deadly serious, just the same.
It boggles the mind the amount of spiritual wisdom that was lost with the desecration of their culture.
What we have today in modern America is pure power distilled but without wisdom, culture or spirit. Like a baby playing with a semi-loaded revolver in a crib.
