@level1 In a modern context (reading about the significant number of injuries and deaths in recent years from heat related incidents) the numbers of deaths attributed to 'misadventure' has grown significantly and worryingly.

Whether it be children in private nurseries or left to their own devices and doing risky behaviour things in dangerous places like rivers or lift shafts or older people in care homes where the management refuse to put the air conditioning on because of costs. Is quite shocking

@level1 Oh the older I get the less I trust statistics.
In my view statistics can be manipulated and used in relevant and irrelevant ways.

Look at how Trump has done exactly that with regard to the 'dangers of unchecked immigrants' while bemoaning the loss of farm harvests in America.

It's the same in the UK.
No government wants to introduce laws giving fairer wages and pensions to the workforce and then they moan as to why they can't fill vacancies for jobs nobody wants if it means you have to work a 0-hours contract.
