I can only imagine the adrenaline rush
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@LiLShrimp The problem is it was a two hour drive so it's just like, white-knuckled high alert for a really long time and EXHAUSTING.
LiLShrimp · 22-25, F
@CountScrofula That reminds me of when my boyfriend had to drive an hour to take me to YYZ in a blizzard, and he forgot to use the De-Icer fluid for the windshield wiper. We were stressed tf out. 😩
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@LiLShrimp Auuuughhhh not fun. And the blizzards down there are WET.

Good luck and be safe...

I have to admit, I've become too cocky about my driving in winter conditions...

As long as visibility is fairly clear and there is no ice, I get cocky and sometimes drive normally... it's made me spin out once (or twice)... but not one wreak or crash.

Though I probably need to get conservative with that, as we really haven't had many winter conditions at all in the last 5 years.

Eeeeshhh.

I've experienced a few of those.. Left finger prints in the steering wheel.

Keep a close eye out for polar bears 👀
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@BobbyMoeven I'm in moose land rather than polar bears. Which is way worse cause they're far more common and designed to kill you in a collision.
BobbyMoeven · 100+, M
@CountScrofula

Yah, my friends in Northern Ontario have had a few close calls..

My one recently hit a deer, that luckily for him, rolled over the roof instead of through the windshield..car totalled

The deer still walked away.. I can't imagine very far..

He wouldn't have survived a moose.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@BobbyMoeven Yeah hitting a deer is something almost everyone here has done on occasion. Weirdly my wife (who is genuinely an amazing driver) never has and she puts 50k on the car every year. Moose don't instantly kill you beceause of modern car design now, but if you hit them just right they will. They're just a gigantic one ton barrel on stilts positioned to go through your windshield.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
I remember those days well. 🙃

Glad I'm no longer in Wyoming.
@CountScrofula meant already with a blizzard
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@beermeplease Oh I know lol. Northern Alberta it happens
@CountScrofula at least you guys are equipped with winter storms whereas we arent. if we get 2 inches here the whole city shuts down 🤣
SUPERVlXEN · F
Drive CARFULLY!!!! 😱
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SUPERVlXEN Sorry, full blown climate change means that the arctic vortex has collapsed and we get waves of extremely cold air like a fan over us, but the overall climate gets warmer and warmer.

I look forwards to Alberta returning to a gigantic interior seaway that splits North America into two continents again. Things were better back then probably
SUPERVlXEN · F
@CountScrofula
Oh, does that mean I can't use the MAGA hoax memes? 😱
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SUPERVlXEN Sure can bb
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
