Not even buddy. I'm 30 as well and I plan to do this until the legs go. Working on my costume for this year now.

I've seen pictures of old ladies cosplaying various things, and a friend of mine in his late 40s just started getting into it, so there's really no worries about age. He even got interviewed by quite a few of the local news stations and online convention coverage, so I'd say that was a positive way to start his new hobby.

@FaeLuna Thank you, that's very cool. Normally I'm an insanely confident person, but I guess I don't want to fail so badly at something after trying so hard at it, and it being such a public humiliation. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet at some point and give it a go.

@UpsideOutInsideDown If it's something you want to do, just do it! The risk of regretting not doing it is very high, and if things do go wrong, at least you tried! Lots of people have costumes that break or tear, or have unfortunate failures, but the community is pretty good about helping out. My friend's robot suit had some malfunctions, and all he had to do was ask to borrow a wrench, and someone happened to have one.

But if you're still afraid of public humiliation, do something with a mask, or face makeup. Harder to recognize and remember someone with all that!

@FaeLuna I'll keep thinking about it, see if an opportunity comes up at the same time as some inspiration. It would be very cool, but it might just end up being on the list of ambitions that's growing a mile at a time, it feels :)

Thank you, though, will take your words on board for sure

There’s loads of people your age that do it. The guys in the group I used to be in are all over 35
