Hobbies are fun, yes ,slow to begin with maybe but it also gives the person time to actually study their new hobby and learn many new things as they get started .
I started stamp collecting many years ago, my grandmother gave me a shoebox full of stamps mostly used but some unused . I was fascinated by how many different ones there was and slowly sorted them all out. I got a couple of albums to put them in and continued to get more and more stamps. It has been fun collecting them. One final thing I never collected them looking at how much they were worth it wasn’t to make money on them , it was only a nice hobby my grandmother started me on .

@Bladey I loved the .049 engines, they took a lot of crashes and kept on ticking lol I have made a few stunt planes from balsa wood and flew them ,sadly they didn’t take crashes as well but with the help of 5 min. Epoxy glue they could get back into the air maybe. I flew string control planes and found that many things can fly ( may not look as pretty but a lot of fun). Those were the good old days.

@Bladey I had a few up to .60 but couldn’t handle them unless I went to RC I had a couple of them but my favorite by far was string control with .049 engine because I loved letting new people try and laugh when they try their first attempt. Usually it was a short flight and I told them exactly what I thought would happen, great takeoff straight up over the head and a one point landing on the other side . 😂
We go grab the plane glue it back together and back in the air in about 15 minutes 😂 it was the best years of my life.
