And how many Borises wound up in Lubyanka, how many Hanses in Auschwitz, how many Hamids in Srbrenica or Jeans in, well, anywhere in Rwanda? Did no one love them?
Granted, none of them were tigers, but the point remains the same: love fails quite often- but only when it matters.

@Rabscuttle I recall listening to John Lennox and a few other Christian leaders like him cover this huge and painful subject of human cruelty and suffering. But in this particular true story of Boris and Svetlaya which the allegory is based on, it really is by God's grace and mercy that, "Love never fails."

@gerardchew So you're saying that everyone who's ever lost someone they cared about didn't actually love them? That's quite the insult.
Dashrath Manjhi's wife was bringing his lunch to his work site when she was caught in a rocksilde. They sent for an ambulance, but the closest hospital was on the other side of the mountain, and there was no direct road, so she had died from her injuries by the time it arrived. No human cruelty involved; just simple natural happenstance. He picked up his tools and carved the tunnel himself, bringing down a mountain to avenge her and ensure no one else would suffer the same way; it's a very odd thing to claim that he didn't love her, but otherwise, she'd've recovered, if love never failed.
Love very often fails. Your lies don't become true just because you hide behind God.
