Using forms of numerology and equating it with Biblical passages that do not specify when Jesus will return is not wise.

I believe in the imminent return of Jesus. He can come back at any time. But those passages do not indicate the specific coming of Jesus the first time, nor when he will return. Daniel 9 gives some indication of when the Messiah would come the first time.

Jesus said regarding his return in Matthew 24:36. “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

Do not set dates, and pay no heed to those who set dates for the the time of Jesus' return. Live your life in preparation for his return at any time.

@OverTheHill Thank you! I am quoting Jesus words when he will come back, not mine.

@OverTheHill What you posted are not Jesus' words Carazaa, They are someone's interpretation of verses throughout the Bible.

I will address only the first portion of what you posted.

1. Genesis 2:2 - By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
(Nothing about timeframe of Jesus' return).
You referenced 1 Thessalonians 1:7-8, but I believe you meant 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 which says "and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus." This verse has to do with future judgement, but it does not reference any time that when this will happen.

2. Genesis 7:6 - Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth. A record of the age of Noah when the flood took place. This verse does not indicate when Jesus will return.

3. Job 35:19 is not found in the Bible. You must mean Job 5:19 - From six calamities he will rescue you;
in seven no harm will touch you
. This verse speaks of God's hand of deliverance in difficulties. Saying it refers to the return of Jesus is spiritualizing the text.

4. Daniel 3:4-5 says Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “Nations and peoples of every language, this is what you are commanded to do: As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Yes this has to do with the golden statute of Nebuchadnezzar that people were made to worship under penalty of death. However, there is no clear future prophetic meaning within this verse. It presupposition to claim that Jesus is saying this has to do with his return.

5. Matt 16:28; Matt 17:1 is speaking of Jesus' transfiguration. Claiming that Jesus is saying that these are Jesus' words predicting his return will be in 6000 years from creation is not his claim in this passage.

When it comes to prophecy, the Bible says in 1 Peter 1:20-21 "knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."

Making dogmatic statements claiming that these passages are clearly claiming when Jesus said the time of his return will be is private interpretation. Let Biblical prophecy stand in its context on its own. Do not seek out prophetic meaning of verses that are not claiming to be prophetic.

I appreciate the Bible passages that you post regularly. This post was much different, and I hope you are able to receive what I was trying to say.

Every word and number in God's word has a meaning. The point of the Bible is to undertand what God means All scripture is inspired by God, that includes every word and every number.

I wonder if he will come by train?

"Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation? 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

@Carazaa I'd say the "Second Coming of Christ" is not a single event – Christ is coming to us in each and every Eucharist, all the time, always. But of course, that's Catholic thinking.

"By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly."

That doesn't leave much for confusion what will happen!
I'm not sure the ancient Hebrew numbering system would fit. Their 600 wouldn't have their 6 in it
You need to read actual scholarship about time statements in early Genesis.

And focus on the Gospels.
@Carazaa And we can read it poorly, as is so often done esp. by "evangelicals" who have bought into UN-Christian teachings of famous false teachers.

Girding yourself with armor also applies to the mind.

John 8:58 "Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”
@Carazaa Which is a teaching from Jesus found exactly where those teachings ARE found...the Gospels.

Thanks for proving my point.

@Diotrephes He will make a new heaven and a new earth! There will be no tears there. I live not for this world but for heaven!

He will make a new heaven and a new earth! There will be no tears there. I live not for this world but for heaven!

The new heaven consists of a 1,500 mile-sided golden cube called New Jerusalem that does not have an entrance for Genties. It sits on a waterless planet that doesn't have any darkness. That's what the fairytale says.

So, even if you get eternal life, chances are you will never, ever, get into the goden cube.
