Have you only just worked that out?

God, he had only succeeded in orphaning himself. For if there is no God, then man's life becomes ultimately absurd. It is without ultimate meaning, without ultimate value, without ultimate purpose.

I guess by liberating ourselves from a fantasy... we have discovered that a segment of the poppulation is too pathetic to handle reality. So to solve the pathetic nature of these individuals, we have to bring fantasy back, so that they forever can pretend to have: "ultimate meaning, ultimate values, ultimate purpose", and not feel ultimate meaningless. It feels like a donkey that needs to be set in motion, by the fantasy that it can actually get the carrot at the end of the stick.

Only the unlearned focus on whether or not God exists.
