One could make up an evolutionary just so story about that. Something like pregnant females not being available for breeding and therefore of no interest to males.
Of course one can make up an equally compelling justification for men being attracted to pregnant women: such a woman has proven that she can conceive so later on she might be persuaded to conceive with you.

@TallMtnMedic That's pretty much definitive (I mean reversals are technically a thing but the chance of success isn't any good), so I'd go with that only if one's certain of not wanting any, ever.
And also, at least here, unless you're 40+ with possibly at least two kids already, also difficult to find a doctor that'll accept to perform it on you 😮💨
