Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II is a very good camera and versatile...

@JudyS I'm more wondering about an EOS.

@cycleman My favorite camera we have is an EOS R6. Its pricey but I shoot a lot of deer and critter pics. It will actually track the animal in the frame. Its fast, works in low light and shoots amazing video.

While I have a Canon Power Shot SX530HS, I’m not going to tell you to pick Canon as a blanket statement.
Look into a few of the better known brands (Canon, Nikon, Olympus, etc.), and see what the specs on each tell you....decide which features are important to you, and make the decision based on what you’re looking for.

@DragonFruit I know there is a supreme Fuji out there, but the cost. Way past me. I have one of those Power shots of Canon, but some of things it use to do has ceased being available.

That kind of depends on your budget, if you plan on a lot of low light shots or video . Also the availability of OEM and after market lenses needs to be researched. Who has more. What type of lenses to you anticipate needing ?

@TexChik I'm sort of leaning back to Nikon D7500 today. I love the lens 18-140mm that comes with it. Suppose to be excellent for Micro pics. I love getting the minor things I see. 😊

I have a canon 70D. Completely satisfied with it so far. It’s all about lenses and objectives btw. All brands have all kinds . There’s no camera brand for landscapes

Great thing about freedom of choice is that it's up to you.

Or use a payment plan & get both.

@PhaqueYou I know, just looking for others opinions, ideas.
Both CANON and NIKON produce quality cameras and photographic items. It depends on your experience if you’ve ever used either before. You need to consider your interest in what you’re shooting, types of lenses and what features the particular camera body has to offer. You might want to look at images and see if you can determine camera make, lenses, the structure of the image. This might aid you in your decision.
