Any CRT television must be pretty old by now, surely? When did the television manufacturers stop using cathode-ray tubes?

@Iwillwait That's true and an important selling-point, but it is a result of the developments in electronics.

Once the TV designers had a way to make flat-screen TVs that also use far less electricity, they realised the commercial potential.
