We're things better when were young???!

SW-User
Hell no. No money, living here and there, treated dirt was never good. Things started to get better around 2008-09 and kept getting better.

@SW-User I'm glad it got.better

@bookerdana Thank you.

Yes, much.
No riots in the streets, no coronavirus, people didn't equate nice with "fake",we were taught morals, no instant gratification from birth, cause and effect was a thing... and then there was a MTV that actually played music...
@bookerdana They sound familiar but I have no idea.

One of the things I miss the most is when we had the old fashioned answering machines and we could lie and say “Oh, I’m so sorry, my machine has been acting up! I never got your message!”.

@Keepitsimple Way after Perry Mason was made..and oh the excitement when Mission impossible comes on😂:1960s..it's funny,my brother has.600+ stations and the thing he likes best is a thing/on antenna TV called,"svenghouli

And at least you could slam a phone down instead of pushing a button on a screen really hard to hang up!!!@Keepitsimple
bookerdana · M
@Chevy454 I never thought of the phone slam!!!😂

Things were a lot simpler, no cell phones, no answering machines, no pc's, no internet. Burt we had a lot of imagination and created our own fun..

In some ways they were, but in other ways they are better now.
For me personally, no - on the whole my life has been getting better as I get older. For the world, also no -- the environmental catastrophe that we're facing now had already begun, plus the Cold War was in full swing with a serious risk of all-out nuclear war; and a lot of discrimination and prejudice was just taken for granted.
I don’t know what it’s like to be old, but as a kid things were lame, as a teen things were terrible, now everything is a nightmare in my 20’s. 0 stars. Maybe being middle aged will bring me happiness.
bookerdana · M
@MorbidCynic I hope so🤗
In some respects.

The naivety of youth, its innocence..ignorance..were bliss.

With age came a shift in perspective, and opportunity.
A freedom to decide your own fate..for better or for worse.

No assurances. No one watching your back.

Not really. My teen years were the worst years of my life expect for being 19 that was the best I’ve had yet. My childhood was decent not perfect but decent.
bookerdana · M
@SW-User I mostly meant childhood,few like high school😧
I grew up working class in a bad neighborhood so I would say nah.
