I Have An Accent

Yes I have, and here is a very brief run through words and their literal translations that I might use that leave you scratching your head...

Aaalreeeet = all right, hello
Akka = going mental
Anal, pronounced ann aal = and all, as well, not to be confused with anal
Aye = yes
Bairn = child
Bait = quality products purchased from Greggs, food
Belter, as in purely belter = quality, mint
Canny = good
Clammin = starving, hungry, in desperate need of scran
Divvy = a buffoon of epic proportions
Doylem = a pure divvy
Gadgie = a bloke
Gan = go
Gannin = going
Get = very
Giz = kindly lend me, give
Gob = mouth
Hackies = dirty looks, "Whys she giving me hackies? She wants to pack it in or I've stott her heed off that wall!"
Hacky = dirty
Haddaway = get away
Hammered = blind drunk
Heed = bonce, head
Hickie = love bite
Hinny = hin, hun, pet
How = hoy! Not to be mistaken with hoy and erm hoy!
Ho'way man (Ha'way in mackem) = come on man, sort yourself out
Hoy, as in gannin on the hoy = going out on the town to consume so much alcohol one loses the ability to see straight
Hoy, as in "hoy that oot" = throw or chuck
Hun = hunny, term of endearment such as pet, love, chick
Hyem = home
Kna = know
Knacks = hurts
Knackered = tired, goosed
Like (when added at the end of a sentence) = no reason, we just do it like! Lol
Man = person, not necessary meaning a person of the male species
Marra = mate, friend
Me = my, me ma and da (i.e. the parents)
Mental = crazy
Mint = brilliant
Minted = rich, lives in Darras Hall
Mortal = drunk
Netty = bog, toilet
Oot = out
Ower = over
Pied = a metaphorical cream pie in the face, having tried to chat someone up and been brushed off, "I've just been pied!"
Plodge = walk through the mud
Pure, as in pure belter = totally
Radge = angry
Radge Packet = more mental than a radgie
Radgie = someone who is gannin akka, or a person going proper mental
Scran = food, bait
Scrannin = eating, stuffing ones face with a Greggs pasty
Smashed = trollied, had too much alcohol
Sneck = lock
Sneck, broken sneck = nose
Snout = tab, cigarette
Snout = greedy persons nose, snout in the trough
Southerner = anyone from south of Darlington
Spelk = a sliver of wood in ones finger that proper knacks
Stott, as in "I'll stott this brick off ya heed" = throw something off something else
Stottie = stodgie big bun, a north east delicacy
Tek ahad = set on fire, take hold of
Toon = Newcastle
Twok, as in whey's twoked me brew = stolen
Us = me, not to be mistaken with the plural use of us
Whey = well
Whey aye = well, of course
Whey aye man = well, of course sir
Wor, as in Wor Jackie = our Jackie, a relative
Worky Ticket = working ones ticket, pushing the boundaries of acceptable behaviour
Yer kna = you know

@Lauren Nearly, but it's a bit further south than that - its geordie, the accent of the north east of England
