I Love Rock Music

I can't make myself like new rock. It's not about "born in the wrong generation" but I just feel like the quality of rock music has decreased so much? It's not really original anymore, nothing can compare to rock of the 70s till 90s, some 00s even. But 10s rock is so bad, except for music released by bands that were around a long time ago already.

it is my favourite from 60s, 70s - ihear it from Papa's cd collection - stones, cream, led zepplin, dire straits, steely dan, van morrison, many more.

True. These kids can’t match up.

@rockstar true... Where's the stuff you can all sing to like L O l A Lola!

I spent my teen years going to all of the concerts I could in the 70s. The biggest thing then in addition to the good music were the laser light shows in the late 70s. Blue Oyster Cult had the very first one and even Led Zeppelin had a decent one.

@Pfuzylogic Wow you're so lucky! I love BOC

@tutku
BOC was the second rock band I saw perform right after Rush in a three band performance. Tickets were $5 at Cincinnati Gardens then and pot smoke filled the ceiling. BOC played five guitars at once. 1974 Secret Treaties was released. Saw them in 75 and the most unreal concert I ever experienced in 76 with their “Agents of Fortune” tour. They did not play “Don't fear the reaper” because of their anger at the city after Robin Trower had been booed on the stage at a previous concert. Saw them in 97 where I finally did hear the song live.
Edit: This is the link to my 2013 EP post about the 76 BOC concert

I agree...I grew up listening to the 60 and 70s stuff mainly... My opinion, definitely more catchy!

@ozgirl512 The music was amazing, it can never be repeated by the newer guys. Also I feel like older bands respect instruments and their roles so much more than newer ones? Especially bass guitars.

@tutku all true... Those great bass lines that have you tapping along!

It reflected those times.
Especially back in the 60's.

Older rock is the best
