I Am Pro Choice

At 18 weeks, they do these screenings for Down syndrome and deformities. When I was about 18 weeks, with my second, the doctors asked me if I wanted to do the screening. Mind you, it’s not a diagnostic, which means no accuracy. They explained to me that they do it during this stage, so that if the fetus “has” it, it will allow parents enough time to decide whether to end their pregnancies or not. Without giving it any thought, I told them I didn’t want the test done and I wasn’t going to end a pregnancy at 18 weeks. So I continued my pregnancy without knowing if my babe had any deformities.

The pregnancy was very hard for me. My health was bad. Due to stress from my living arrangements, I could’ve died, or lost my baby. All of which I talked about in another post. So I won’t go into too much detail. I was willing to fight for both my unborn son and my daughter who was already born, and struggling seeing her Mommy suffer.

After his birth, physically I hadn’t been the same. So I can’t get pregnant again. Don’t want to. But he was a healthy little boy. And I’ve got a healthy little girl. They come first always.

This is one of the main reasons I am pro choice. I know my body. I know what I can and can’t handle. And my personal experience are my own, and nobody else. It’s my body, my choice. That goes for ANY woman. Whatever she thinks is best.

And yes.... This has a lot to do with being pro choice. The meaning is a woman’s right to choose, whether it’s abortion, adoption or parenting. I personally chose parenting. If anybody did differently, it’s her right. And nobody has the right to judge her or me.

Soooo true. the doctors told me it was too soon to tell if my son was low. I knew the whole time. He ended up being super low in my pelvis and gave me back pain and back labor.

I had a feeling I might get pregnant soon. I was pregnant at 3.5 months postpartum.

I had two abortions. One the doctor said I'd die. It was my 4th? pregnancy I think or 5th in like 3 years. And recovering from a caesarean.

the 6gh one was an abortion with twins. I was sick. Sicker than I was with my twins. And I just felt the whole time that something was wrong. My husband didn't support me but the rest of my family did.

No one knows your body like you do.

No problem. Its hard to talk about. It was physically painful, emotionally painful, and left my body confused for months. SO yes, I completely understand.

@darktippedrose you can always talk to me about it. Just so you know. Message me anytime.

@NaturalBeautyQueen thank you sweetie.
It does. People assume “pro-choice” means “pro-abortion”. It simply means the pregnant woman chooses, and no one else, because it is her body. It’s a private decision between the woman and her doctor. Sometimes that choice will be parenthood.

So, you're more important than you're unborn baby?
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
So you didn’t read my post, I take it? Haha.... That’s funny. @Theosis
I totally agree with you, it's about choice. And the mother is the one that knows what she needs to do. I'm glad you have two healthy children 💗💗
