Neighboring Critters [I Love the Outdoors and Nature]

Sitting here on the porch, listening to the songbirds, hummingbirds buzzing around and the creek below. Feeling pretty peaceful, plus sipping on some good whiskey and drinking coffee 😉

Guess I'm getting use to all the solitude here in this holler. Haven't much to say for awhile, but I just wanna share some special moments I've experienced lately.
Can't tell anyone around here because they would be tempted to go hunt/trap my neighboring critters.

The first of Spring I got to see up close and spent hours watching them.. from the porch, about 50ft away in a big tree... lordy that was winded.. two newly born bear Cubs.
They were so good staying there all day waiting for mama bear.. some was I. They climbed about and entertained me. Took some pictures but they were so far up the tree..not good at all..two black spots..lol
😁
A couple of mornings ago, I went to have my coffee on the porch and right there.... few feet away, behind the wood shed, sitting proudly below me was a full grown Bobcat. Omg he was beautiful. We watched each other for some spell, I even spoke out loud the I wanted to take a picture. I ran back into the house and grabbed my tablet.. he was still sitting there.
Not a good picture, but if you zoom in, right behind the shed, at the end of the limb 😉 you can see him sitting upright.

Thank you for reading. Take care ✌💖

That sounds so much like my last home in the woods. I have a picture of the bobcat that lived on the edge of my property somewhere.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@EasyFriend I do miss that a lot.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@SweetMae bet you were as tickled as I was being able to see such a private and beautiful critter.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@ShadowWorker I was. I love to see all the animals.
Piper · 61-69, F
Thank you for sharing it. There are times when knowing there are others who respect and care about our fellow creatures the way you do, is a needed light of hope for me...about my fellow humans.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Piper hmmn...about my fellow humans. ....I understand. That is why my husband and I live in the woods.. these creatures here are less harmful.
The winged ones and four legged neighbors...I love their ways.
@ShadowWorker I especially feel that way toward the deer and elk. So lovely and grand

That's awesome!

I slightly live sorta in the country, usually I see some deer, groundhogs and some predators like either cat, fox or coyote.

But this year, almost no deer or predators at all, and just completely and totally overrun with rabbit everywhere!
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Viper we are overrun with squirrels!
Viper · M
@ShadowWorker The squirrels usually my place unless someone is feeding the birds, then they visit.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Viper yup, we have several bird feeders..
Thank you. I felt 'ahhhhh,' reading this. The (small) city has advantages but I do miss the country.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Mamapolo2016 thank you. I'm feeling ahhhhhh too!
@ShadowWorker I don't much miss bobcats screaming, though. They sound like you should make an urgent 911 call.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Mamapolo2016 omg.. they cry like a woman in pain. Raises the hair on the back of the neck. I felt honored he would let me see him. Too cool.
I spend time at a place up in the mountains a few times a year where bobcats, deer, Javalina and eagles are regularly seen. I love it.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@EasyFriend yes indeed! We lived a mile straight down a mountain in the woods. Once upon a time I would get lonely, now I feel I have friends all about me.
@ShadowWorker sweet!
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
Beautiful.

Did you used to be here under a different name? ♥️
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@ShadowWorker I thought so 🤗🤗🤗 it is so good to see you. Been thinking of you and wondering how you're doing.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@SwampFlower Thank you. ditto sweet soul. I am also happy to see you.
Growing old gracefully and happy. 😊
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@ShadowWorker I'm so relieved. And of course gracefully, you could do it no other way.
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
That’s a rare moment to enjoy, they’re usually gone at the first sight of a human.
Enjoy the whiskey, coffee and nature!!
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Quimliqer good morning. Yup, I felt blessed to be able to stare back at the bobcat. I even went.. here kitty kitty.. 😉😁
Thank you. I enjoyed my night.
Take care

I saw a cool red stag beetle on one of my walks this week.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Penny Cool...the jaws of life.
Yes, I see him. 👁️👁️
