I Have A Random Question

In Beauty and the Beast, the Prince and all his servants were put under a curse that lasted 10 years, however Chip is clearly a child who is less than 10 years old. So where did he come from?

The Prince indeed was enchanted at age 11 and does age toward his 21st Birthday. Chip and the other servants are a continuity problem in that while the Beast ages they do not. Chip was a young boy at the time of the curse. The Prince was a little older but a boy never the less. Many times Directors figure people won't notice or care about these things or they may not care themselves as they just want to tell the story that way and screw anyone that has a problem with it.
All the characters should have aged.
To play the Devil's Advocate though, one could see the Beast as the true focus of the curse and therefore the one who needs to grow wise in order to reign well as an adult. There could have been a benevolent aspect to the curse in that it, in effect, did not cause the servants to lose 10 years of life to the curse just because they happened to work for him. So for them time was suspended. After all, it is magic and if you have that kind of power it probably would not be too difficult to accomplish.

@NodandaWink That's one theory I hadn't thought about. Thanks.
🤔 Umm idk but, I always just assumed he was 10 when they put that curse on them and they all just like stayed the same age they were when they got that curse on them. Lol

@Nugget: Ok there are 2 ways old looking at the '21 years': 21st birthday or 21 years under the curse with the Rose gradually losing its petals.

As Belle comes along 10 years after the curse is given, and the night she decides she 'loves' the Prince, the last petal falls, there is no way in which that rose would have sustained another 11 years in the potential case of her fleeing forever, leaving him to wait for someone else.

@Skelepop666: this feels stupid. I agree with what lady08 said and what's shown in the movie.

@Nugget: But the rose was shown in the movie as only being able to last for 10 years, not 21 years

They stay the same age

@Nugget: Explain the rose then. The only other way the '21 years' would have made sense (if what you are saying is true about him being a young man and not aging) is if the curse was 21 years, which it wasn't, it was 10 years.

@Skelepop666: this is stupid. It's magic and a fairytale. I don't care. This isn't worth the amount of thought you put at all. Bye

@Nugget: Personally I don't think being inquisitive and analytical is that stupid, but if that's the way you feel then I'm not judging that

@APhoenix: Yeah but I'm an anatomically correct human being not a tea-pot with the inability to procreate, and given the timeline, Mrs Potts would have had to have been a teapot for at least a couple of years before Chip was conceived and born.
