@Mugin16 I have a theory but maybe I'm just selectively dyselxic. I was taught to search for a hidden meaning in poems but with poor knowledge of language you won't get far and it's frustrating. Also, since first grade or kindergarten we were taught to focus on rhythm, cadence, recitation and all the aesthetic qualities of poetry and when I see a poem I automatically focus on that part and the meaning of the words is slipping away. I subconsciously try to find rhyme. It's imperative and I can't suppress it. And I have to read lines several times.
And it's even more frustrating. It happens when someone use very artistic style of writing or lots of foreign words...oh well, yep, I'm dylexic. 😐️

@CrazyMusicLover I see. Of course it is very hard or maybe even impossible to properly and accurately translate a poem.

@stound I liked Oscar Wilde's The Ballad of Reading Gaol and maybe a couple of others but mostly I just can't see the appeal of poetry.

@CrazyMusicLover for the most part, I think I get more out of making a crappy little than reading pretty much anyone else's, I can't disagree with that. I'd have to look up notable exceptions.
