I Have a Confession

My dad died 15 years ago. I hadn’t seen him in 25 years. Isn’t that ridiculous? I made no effort. I was angry. I don’t know why but it came to mind today.

Wasted years. He never met his grandkids and vise versa. Maybe he wouldn’t have wanted to, but I was too angry to give him a chance. He was a man. An imperfect one and frankly a terrible husband and father, but what did I accomplish?

Why not forgive? Now it’s too late. The regret is always with me.

I wouldn't know if your choice was "ridiculous", of course. To me though, it does sound like a sad thing, all around.

@Piper I think that is fair. For me it’s been a reminder to forgive and not take anything for granted.
Thank you. 🙂
