It’s a difficult line to get across, isn’t it? Mine doesn’t say anything negative to me, or do anything inappropriate, but I can tell when he is hurting. It breaks my heart that I can only give him my love and support. It’s one of those times I wish I could make all of his pains go away. But he does stay active with his VFW buddies, so that definitely helps him. @aradia11

There’s a mutual respect IMO game veterans and we find it easier than talking to a civilian that hasn’t experienced being in a combat zone

My adoptive father was . His worst issues were men dying while following his orders . He was always well respected among other veterans in the community . Men actually stood when he would take me to lunch at the restaurant where they all hung out . He helped many of those local guys who suffered from ptsd or had been seriously wounded . He was always feeding someone at our table at home . The only time I saw him tear up was when they played the national anthem or “ America” . I learned a lot about the Marines , but he never talked about his combat experiences.
