I am going to have a big tonail removed today.. any ideas or suggestions?

I prepared as much as I can possibly do myself. My doc told me that all they do to protect it after it's done is gauze. Since I have been having problems with it I have dropped and kicked so many things with it. I asked him for a cover for it and he said that he didn't have any thing like that because no one asked. I suggested a boot brace because it has a hard top on it. He laughed and said that a boot brace would be over kill. I looked him square in the eye and said over kill is underrated. His nurse laughed at that.. but she agreed with me. She was laughing at him she told me later. So now I have this boot brace in the attached pic. I was unprepared for something in life that I should have been prepared for. After getting hypothermia from walking 15 miles in white out weather in tennis and denim jeans and t shirt and a wind breaker. I said never again will I be under prepared. What do you all think I may need that I have not thought of? I am open to suggestions.

Oh Geeze . Man up . Without the nail there nothing to hurt it . Put some antibiotic ointment over it and a good band-aide. I’ve had several done .

@TexChik Thanks.. Its people like you that take my mind off of stuff like this. You sound like my bestfriend that's basically my brother. I have never had one taken off.

@Picklebobble2 Lol.. I live 50 miles away from my doc. The quacks in my small town may get to treat me if I am bleeding out or have a bullet in me. And after I get stable I would check out AMA and go to the better hospital.
