Sudden tooth ace. No gums swollen, but a tooth sensitive to pressure.
VERY UNUSUAL for me..
What home remedies are there for me nursing my tooth back to health.
It kept me awake last night..
Older man here in otherwise good health...

Try rinsing your mouth out really well with a mixture of warm water and salt or baking soda, a few times a day. You might have some food trapped between the gum and tooth. Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide also, can help. But, honestly, I think tomorrow you should call the dentist and get in as soon as possible to ensure you don't have an infection or something going on with the root.

@SW-User THANKS.. I'll do that, because I do suspect that food got trapped and I am just not getting it out with regular brushing..
It's not sensitive to cold or warm..
I'll try salt water first.. Not sure about what the baking soda or hydrogen peroxide might do...
Sipping warm tea just now..

@polyandrym66 The baking soda works like salt. Dentists usually prefer that to salt. Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide can help keep possible infections at bay.

If it is trapped food and you cant dislodge it, get to the dentist. Infections can get into your blood stream quickly. I know people who have almost died from that. I'm obsessive about my dental hygiene because of it. If you manage to dislodge it, keep doing the rinsing a few times a day for a few days.

There’s no home remedy . Your tooth is starting to abscess . You need antibiotics and I’m guessing a root canal . Does cold or hot on the tooth cause severe pain?

If you take a fork at lightly tap on it does it hurt? If so then a root canal would be the best home remedy.

Clove oil can provide temporary relief but you need to see a dentist.

I tell you what. Orajel kind of works but dentist's have a gel that's so much more powerful. Maybe one can give you a prescription for it.
