How do I get my eye to stop twitching?

I don't know what I did, but my left eye just started twitching about half an hour ago, and it's still going.

Have you drank a lot of coffee or other caffeine drinks. That can do it for me, I drank Yerba mate tea one time for a few days and my eye started twitching for days. Also stress can do it if you’re worried about something.

@FaeLuna One time when I was in high school my eye twitched all day long. I couldn’t figure out why and we had a field trip in sociology class. We were going to a local jail to visit it and then to a local prison. I couldn’t figure out the eye twitch and then sitting on the bus going to the prison I figured out what was bothering me. When I was 11 years old my father abandoned me & my sisters in a motel room & checked himself into a hospital (he was thinking the law was after him again for doing something in another state and he wanted relatives to take us)...the child welfare came & picked us up & took us to a children’s detention center which was nothing but a jail, tall fence with barbed wire around the building, gravel yard for recreation & bars on all the windows. That was one of the most traumatic things staying there for several days until a family member could come & get us. When I figured out the link my eye stopped twitching immediately.

@cherokeepatti Oh wow, that's terrible. Sounds like the motel room would have been better than that place.

@FaeLuna It would have. I got sick the first night & threw up after dinner.

Stress and dehydration

Dry eyes (especially in the winter) could lead to that. Moisturizing eye drops can help. Also lack of sleep can cause it.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@SW-User I didn't sleep well last night, so that could be it.
SW-User
@FaeLuna Yes. Very likely.

stop looking at screens for a while...warm water on a face towel and put it over your eye
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@nahright09 Well, my eye is still twitching, but that felt really good on the rest of my face.
nahright09 · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna alright dude...a couple advils and 12 hours of sleep!
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@nahright09 Will do!

Burn your eye out.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Dateless What if I need them later?
Dateless · 31-35, M
Not sure I’ve been experiencing the same thing @FaeLuna
Tonydang · M
Yeah I’m guessing lack of sleep
TeirdalinFirefall · 31-35, M
It's pretty annoying when that happens.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Eye drops and rest your eyes?
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@basilfawlty89 Just need to not fall asleep there either.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@FaeLuna that tired?
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@basilfawlty89 I'm definitely starting to feel the lack of sleep last night.
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
It always happens to me when I'm stressed.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@SkeetSkeet Yeah, it's starting to sound like it's mostly stress. Big conference for work next week on the other side of the country, so travel stress is setting in early it seems.

Probably stress
