I Am Stressed Out And Feeling Lost

Why do people have to pick on others over petty social politics stuff in these little towns? What happened to live and let live? As cheesy as it sounds it sure would be nice if people could just coexist. Not necessarily be friends or get along perfect. But perhaps not blood thirsty animosity.
