I Think Personal Hygiene Is Important

I am not going to apologize for what I am attracted to. I went on blind date not long ago and I knew it was a bad idea from the beginning. I had only seen a picture and I will admit he was a good looking man. However on the date he ordered foods that were well like a baby would eat. Mashed Potatoes, Applesauce, Soft foods. He did not smile once. The date was ok except he was trying to hide his teeth and talk to me. I knew I was not interested in another date. As the date came to a close he finally smiled and asked for another date that I promptly declined. Since then he has sent me several text date requests and even has went so far as to ask me to tell him why I'm refusing. I did not want to tell him the reason was because of his poorly cared for teeth. I'm not talking about a little crooked here. His Teeth are roots in his mouth. His teeth are missing with black and green discoloration on what is still there. He told me after I told him the truth I was being superficial. I fail to see how. If I'm not attracted to that why should I pretend I am. Sigh!

if you dont feel like kissing a date you definitely shouldnt go for a second date no matter your specific reason! What would be the purpose - you will just be leading him on and end up both very disappointed rigth?

Nothing wrong with standards.

I totally agree!

I absolutely don't think that you are being superficial. Those are your standards, and as you say, you shouldn't apologize for what you are attracted to.

Thank you... It was rather disturbing really. :)

@Wildflower00: I think it would have been unsettling, the way it unfolded too... him ordering soft foods, hiding his teeth by not smiling, your slow realization of what the issue was. Makes me shudder just thinking about it! :)

@OzDiver: It was awkward. I hope to never be put into a situation like it again. I appreciate the support. :)

Thank you.. I felt bad really. I tried more than a dozen times to politely say no thank you. But he got to a point and him calling me out so to speak I had to be honest. I hope he gets it fixed and finds someone.

Yuk! I don't like. They may be amalgam(silver) fillings some dentists are ruthless when a patient's level of decay doesn't stop despite warning, which I kind of think defeats the point, why knock their confidence that's a sure way to get them to not see the dentist.
But back to you, good for you, honesty is important especially with things like that.

Would you date him if he got nice looking implants?
Wildflower00 · 51-55, F
That's a tough question to answer. As of right now the answer would be no thank you.

@Wildflower00: Already turned off, I guess.

@Peekaboo: Unfortunately yes.
That's totally your right. Had there been something about you he'd found unattractive he likely wouldn't made any apologies for not asking you out again.
Wildflower00 · 51-55, F
Agreed! I'm very certain of that as well.
