I Think Personal Hygiene Is Important

I'm dating someone now who has no sense of smell. When I first met him, he did have bad hygiene. He barely showered, even after sweating and working all day. He only brushed his teeth once every two days. I'm a clean freak, so it was already a start of a bad relationship. He didn't start to clean himself up until one day he tried to kiss me and I couldn't stand the smell anymore and I told him hell no. He had this sad look on his face and asked why. I told him flat out that his breath stunk and he needed to brush twice and rinse three times if he wanted to kiss me. He told me that he had brushed his teeth yesterday so he thought it was fine. I told him that's disgusting and he should be brushing at least twice a day. He told me he would start doing that from now on. Since we were on the subject of hygiene, I also told him he needed to shower more. He asked me what did I mean. I told him there was nothing confusing in that statement. I said you barely take showers, you sweat a lot, you forget to put on deodorant, and then you get in bed at the end of the day without washing off whatever got attached to your skin and expect me to cuddle with you. He looked hurt again, so I told him to get over it and just take the advice cause it's not that hard. He said he would take more showers as well and use more deodorant and yes he started that night, but he started semi-slacking. He brushes his teeth now but only in the mornings and takes a shower every night. I still don't like that he gets in the bed with his dirty clothes and still forgets to use deodorant sometimes. I'm gonna let it slide for now because we don't live with each together.

I can't stand going more than about 12 hours without brushing my teeth. It would drive me mad. To be honest, I would brush my teeth for every meal if it wasn't so bad for the enamel to brush too often.

I agree, good hygiene is a must because it keeps you healthy and less offensive. Especially the teeth. Brushing and flossing after every meal is best
